Flowmotion  ~ Seattle,WA ~  PEOPLE GET READY (LIVE AT THE 2007 SUMMER MELTDOWN

"Energetic Jimi Hendrix guitar bravado, driving funk bass lines and Clauson's gruff vocals help ground the songs within the rock genre, while the band's tendency to break into unscheduled improv keeps the live shows fun and flamboyant" . (SEATTLE PI)

~ We are very pleased to announce that Flowmotion will be on the bill for the 2008 line-up. They are one of the hardest working and sought after bands in the NW. They also host the annual Summer Meltdown Festival in Darrington WA which has been growing in magnitude and gaining huge national attention. If you have not had the chance to experience a Flowmotion show, do yourself a favor and check them out. It's a booty shaken good time.

~ Seattle, WA ~ SisterMonk  (MYSPACE)

From tangy funk to deep bottomed Latin grooves, from Middle-eastern trance to rock and soul, SisterMonk remains one of the hottest emerging world funk acts today. Sharing bases in Seattle and New York City, the band continues to amass a loyal and diverse fan base. They will be following up the success of their previous two releases (sold over 4,000 copies) with a new album in 2006. This will be a collaborative effort featuring their new sound and an exciting new line-up of musicians.

"...Music's ability to unite, heal and act as a catalyst for positive change is celebrated in songs created by the band SisterMonk Harem. The very make up of the group - embracing world, jazz, rock, classical and folk musicians - speaks to the band's interest in creating culturally varied and spiritually nurturing music. Though based in the Pacific Northwest, SMH is becoming increasingly known across the country for their unusual mix of diverse instruments and a sound some have called 'Gypsy Funk'."
KUOW 94.9 -Dave Beck, 2003

Little Big Man ~ Seattle, WA ~ (MYSPACE)

For nearly a decade, the members of Little Big Man have performed while sharing their message of peace, love, and unity to crowds in the Pacific Northwest, California, and Hawaii.

Little Big Man's innovative sound stems from diverse backgrounds in roots reggae, jazz, funk, and Hawaiian. The band commands the stage with unmistakable harmonies, a phenomenal rhythm section, and a presence that is known to get people on their feet. Fans have been mesmerized by the reggae dubs, excited by dancehall, captured by the roots, and enticed by the funk jams. "One of the best bands I’ve seen in a long time...tons of fun" The Oregonian

San Francisco CA / Seattle, WA ~ James Whiton and the Downtwn Apostles (MYSPACE)

The Downtown Apostles is a somewhat floating membership of extremely adept musicians who back his forays into the fringes of jazz, metal, ambient, and experimental rock. For the 2005 release The Way Your Mouth Moves on Hipsync Records, the Apostle line-up is a fixed four-piece with electric guitarist Bill Patton lending a decidedly metallic edge to the proceedings, and drummer Jay Jaskot and trumpet player John Fricke filling things out more than solidly. This group is incredibly tight, and provides a soundtrack to Whiton's spoken narrative that ranges from haunting to fearsome.

“this is some of the most unique music being played today...a soft hybrid of tone, reverberation and depth...” Northwest Jazz Profile

~ Tacoma, WA ~  CAN-U w/ DJ Reign The Program. LIVE

When speaking to different types of people about hip-hop their opinions range from there is no good music out today to so and so fell off or that there's too many emcees and not many of them are skillful. While I understand these viewpoints I whole heartedly disagree. Good music surrounds us but most aren't tuned into the right frequency. Without the music I listen to and am involved in I'd be a far less fulfilled and passionate person. I treat music in the highest esteem and hope that it effects others in the same way it has myself.

The Joshua Cain Band ~ Tacoma WA ~ (MYSPACE)

The Joshua Cain Band found their souls on the streets of urban Tacoma. You might play great music, but then the town finds you, strips you down, kills you dead, and makes you real. Pain and possibility go hand in hand in that place, spinning tales that remind you that a song ain't a song until you've lived it.

~ Seattle, WA ~ The New Law (MYSPACE)

The New Law creates ever-evolving sound-scaping beats that infuse elements of all styles of music. With influences from jazz, electronic, funk, hip hop and even classic rock, there are no limits when it comes to the unique all-encompassing instrumental sound this duo has created. Their music is created for a large sound system, but can be equally enjoyed on a small home stereo.

~ Tacoma, WA ~ Josh Rizeberg

I have been winning slams, performing as a spoken-word poet, teaching spoken-word poetry, and laying Hip-Hop vocals all up and down the west coast and in Canada for a hot minute now. You can hear more of Rizeberg’s spoken-word pieces at www.speakyoursoul.org
